Postmates x Issa Rae — 45 Seconds of Vintage Flavor
Postmates tapped Blacksmith to animate a YouTube short for "The Receipt" — featuring Issa Rae's favorite eats.
The ask: Make it delicious and cinematic.
No footage. Just photos and type.
→ Built a 45s visual story using only stills + typography
→ Leaned into old Hollywood as a design language
→ Used flickering text, film burns, and vintage projector cues
→ Let type do the storytelling — Issa’s words in motion
→ Elevated static photography into stylized movement
